An Interview with Joe Subolefsky: Million Dollar Fence and Pro Tips Galore with Joe Subolefsky - Wild and Exposed Podcast
* I just finished my third workshop with Joe Subolefsky, and it was another awesome and worthwhile experience! Joe is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the behavior and traits of the area’s wildlife and birds. He’s a patient and thorough instructor, which helps you get the most out of your time shooting. I’ve truly enjoyed learning from Joe, and I can see why Chas invited him to be a part of the Shoot the Light team. I highly recommend going on one (or many!) of Joe’s hosted STL workshops.
Joe is a well-traveled Maryland-based wildlife photographer. In February 2021, he was invited to join Shoot The Light team as an instructor and workshop leader.
Joe's images have graced the cover of Ducks Unlimited, Natural History magazine, placed and won in many competitions including Bird Photographer of the Year and Audubon’s photography awards. Publication credits include Audubon, Ducks Unlimited, Cornell University’s Bird Biology Textbooks and more.
Joe enjoys teaching photography and feels the best when he sees clients get the shot they envisioned in their head. His hands-on approach to workshops allows his clients to be out in the field shooting, asking questions and tweaking their style right in the moment to gain the necessary knowledge to capture the shot of their dreams. His deep knowledge of animal behavior, cameras, both DSLR and mirrorless, and how to get the most out of the equipment makes him a very effective teacher for students at all levels.
